Apply for use of council land

Before you start

It is imperative that you have read and organised the relevant key considerations as provided below:

Please note as an event organiser it is your responsibility to organise the following actions:

  • Completing Risk Assessments – please ensure that you understand your Health and Safety Responsibilities.  For further guidance on safety management visit the HSE website www.hse.gov.uk
  • Organising First Aid Cover
  • Supplying a List of all Caterers to Wyre Council’s Food Safety Team. Council policy states that all vendors used by ourselves or external organisers, must have a minimum hygiene rating of 4. For further information on this, please contact environmentalhealth@wyre.gov.uk
  • Budgeting for the event, looking at sources of funding.
  • Notifying the Civil Aviation Authority for certain events e.g. Balloon Releases, Hot Air Balloons, Kite Festivals.
  • Organising Waste Management and leaving the site clean and tidy following the event.
  • Providing Toilet Facilities
  • Organising Insurance Cover – insurance indemnities are required for all events, these will vary dependant on the type of activities taking place.

Counter terrorism training

You should complete the online  ACT Awareness and See, Check and Notify (SCaN) training before organising and managing an event.

This training covers good practice around counterterrorism and hostile reconnaissance and is suitable for all event organisers. When completing an application for use of council land, you will be asked to confirm that you have read and understood the information provided.

Parking

If your event will attract visitors/participants arriving by car, please state the parking provisions that you will be asking them to use.

Road closure

If your event requires road closures, please contact Wyre Council direct on 01253 881564.

Wyre Council (The Data Controller) will only use your personal information to process your application for the use of land and property belonging to Wyre Council.
