Is my personal data being shared?
We will not share personal data unless a Fixed Penalty Notice remains unpaid, then the case may progress to formal legal action, and we will share details with the Magistrates’ Court.
Similarly, following an investigation into a reported environmental offence, we may choose to prosecute, and details will be shared with the court. Over the course of an investigation, we may liaise with Lancashire Police, the Environment Agency, and Lancashire County Council. We may also contact social housing providers to ascertain ownership of land where fly tipping has occurred. Details of the offence and alleged perpetrator(s) will be disclosed on a need-to-share basis to enable the investigation to be carried out.
