Blackpool and Wyre Retail and Leisure Study 2025
This Study assesses the current convenience and comparison retail provision and leisure provision in Blackpool and Wyre, and presents the future retail and leisure needs in Blackpool and Wyre from 2022-2041.
The Study also presents town centre health checks, including reviewing the health of the four town centres or Wyre, and a review of town centre boundaries and the primary shopping areas within them.

The national planning policy framework indicates that local planning authorities may set a local floor space threshold to require an impact assessment for retail, leisure and office developments proposed outside town centres. The Blackpool and Wyre Retail and Leisure Study also assessed the thresholds for Wyre.
