The Fylde Coast Economic Needs Update and Employment Land Review (ELR) 2024 was undertaken in 2024 and endorsed by the Planning and Economic Portfolio Holder in January 2025. It forms part of the evidence base for the Local Plan and ongoing development management purposes.
The appendices to the Fylde Coast Economic Needs Update and Employment Land Review (ELR) 2024 contain pro-forma's for each individual employment site that was assessed as part of the study, with appendix 5 containing the pro-forma's for Wyre’s sites.
This approach to conducting a review of employment land meets the underlying principles of the national planning policy framework (NPPF).
Other employment evidence
- The Wyre Employment Land and Commercial Leisure Study 2012 and associated appendix 2 which were undertaken to inform the previous Local Plan.
- The Wyre Employment Land Study Update which was carried out in September 2015 to reflect the latest demand forecasting elements.
- The Update Addendum December 2015 which was produced to undertake sensitivity testing of the demand forecast.
- The Commercial Market Review 2015, and
- The Update Addendum 2017 carried out that year to undertake further sensitivity testing of the demand forecast in light of the latest Experian dataset.
