Wyre Local Plan (2011-2031) (incorporating partial update of 2022)

Planning Inspector Mark Dakeyne BA (Hons) MRTPI was appointed to conduct the examination to determine whether the Wyre Local Plan Partial Update (2011-2031) was sound and subsequently issue a report with his conclusions. The Inspector's Report is now available and will be considered at a meeting of The Council on 26 January 2023 with a recommendation to be adopted. Once adopted, the Plan will form part of the development plan for Wyre and form the basis for future planning decisions. 

To assist the Inspector, a Programme Officer, Tony Blackburn was appointed. Now that the Examination has concluded, his role is now at an end and any future correspondence regarding the Plan should be sent to the Council at planning.policy@wyre.gov.uk

4 January - Subject to Modifications, the Inspector has found the Plan 'sound' and the Council are now progressing towards adoption.

Main Modifications Consultation

The council submitted the Plan to the Government on 25 April 2022 which was the start of the Local Plan Examination.  Hearings took place on the 27 and 28 September 2022.  During the examination, including the hearing sessions, the Planning Inspector identified a number of Main Modifications (MM) that are necessary to make the Plan sound.

The council prepared a Schedule of Main Modifications. The proposed Main Modifications (MM) were put forward without prejudice to the Inspector’s final report. The council invited representations on these proposed MM over a six week period from 12 October 2022 to 5.00pm 23 November 2022.

The consultation letter including Statement of Representations Procedure and guidance note provides further details on the consultation. Representations received during the consultation will be provided to the Planning Inspector, who will take account of the representations as part of preparing his final report and concluding whether the Partial Update is legally compliant and sound.
