Do we share your information with anyone else?
The Council may share information with:
- Department for Work and Pensions (DWP)
- HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC)
- Valuation Office Agency (VOA)
- Other local authorities
- Government departments and public bodies
- Credit reference agencies
- Debt collection and enforcement agents
- External contractors providing services on behalf of the Council
- Law enforcement agencies and organisations involved in fraud prevention and detection
Information will only be shared where permitted by law and where it is necessary to do so.
Fraud Prevention and Detection
The Council has a duty to protect public funds and may use information provided by you to:
- Prevent and detect fraud
- Verify information supplied in applications and claims
- Participate in data matching exercises, including those undertaken by the Cabinet Office through the National Fraud Initiative (NFI)
