Lawful basis for processing your data
Processing your data is necessary in the exercise of official authority vested in the council in accordance with Article 6 (1) (c) (e) of the General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR).
The Council processes personal information under the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.
The principal lawful bases include:
- Article 6(1)(c) – Compliance with a legal obligation.
- Article 6(1)(e) – Performance of a task carried out in the public interest or in the exercise of official authority.
- Article 9(2)(g) – Processing necessary for reasons of substantial public interest where special category data is required.
