Heritage Open Days 2023

Every year in September, places across the country throw open their doors to celebrate their heritage, community and history. Heritage Open Days provide you with the chance to see hidden places and try out new experiences – and it’s all free!

From Friday 8 to Sunday 17 September, Wyre Council will host a series of walks, talks and tours, and provide the opportunity for residents and visitors alike to go inside some of our beautiful buildings.

You are invited to come along to our free guided walks to learn more about local history, heritage and wildlife!

What the Papers said in Bleasdale

Visitors will be able to attend a guided, local history trail, which follows tracks and field paths in the parish of Bleasdale.

Visit Marsh Mill Windmill, built in 1794 and Grade II* as designated by Historic England, see the sails turn and have a free tour around this 70 foot Tower Windmill.
