Heritage Open Days - Marsh Mill Windmill

Heritage open days 2023

Visit Marsh Mill Windmill, built in 1794 and Grade II* as designated by Historic England, see the sails turn and have a free tour around this 70 foot Tower Windmill. No need to book.

Until 1922 Marsh Mill was a working windmill producing wheatflour for bread, crushed barley for animal feed, rye flour and oatmeal. In 1928 the first two floors were used as a tea shop. Today, the mill with its working machinery offers a unique introduction to milling of a bygone age.

Guided tours to the public are available for free during Heritage Open Days. Tours give a real insight into the history and engineering of the mill.

Marsh Mills sails will turn for the event (weather dependant) and there will be children's activities on the ground floor. there will also be arts and heritage exhibitions to see on the ground floor.
