What is a major development?
A development of 10 dwellings or more, or 30 or more bedspaces in Purpose Built Student Accommodation (PSBA).
Please note: you still need to submit levy information, even if your project is not a major development.
Although the BSL primarily impacts major developments, you will still need to submit levy information to us even if you are only building one dwelling, for example ahouse or flat, or one student bedspace. Please read the following carefully, as failure to provide the correct information at the right time will prevent your building control application being validated and could prevent us from issuing a completion certificate on your project. The same information needs to be provided whether you are submitting a building control application through the local authority or submitting an initial notice through a private registered building control approver.
