What personal information do we collect?
Information we hold concerning you may include the following:
- Name
- Address and contact details
- Driving Licence number
- Nationality
- Date of Birth
- Passport style photograph
- Copies of identity documentation proving your right to work in the UK such as passport or Biometric Residency Permit
- Knowledge test scores
- Vehicle Registration Number (VRN)
You provide us with this information when you apply for a licence to be a Hackney Carriage and/or Private Hire driver, or operator or for your vehicle. You may apply directly with us or via the TaxiPlus service who will pass us your details.
You must also give us details of any health conditions or disabilities that may affect your ability to drive and we may ask you to provide us with further information from health professionals such as GPs or Occupational Health workers.
We receive information on any criminal convictions you may have from the National Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS). You should provide us with this information but we will also receive information from the National Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS). When processing your application, we will also check the National Register for Revocations, Refusals and Suspensions (NR3) to see whether you have previously had a licence refused or revoked. Where this is the case, we will contact the local authority that added the information for further details.
Any complaints made against you may also be included on your record.
