To help us continue to deliver our services to the residents of Wyre and safeguard the future of our borough, we are proposing the increase our portion of council tax by 2.99%, the equivalent of 20p per week (on a Band D property).
Not only will our proposed budget allow us to continue to deliver our essential services, but it will also enable the delivery of a range of ambitious projects, including:
- Implementing a programme of interventions that support older and/or disabled people in Wyre
- Delivering improved leisure opportunities in collaboration with our new leisure provider
- Progressing the Fleetwood Waterfront Masterplan, to strengthen Fleetwood’s commercial assets and increase economic benefit
- Developing the Jubilee Gardens Masterplan, identifying ways to improve and regenerate this location following the completion of Beach Management Works at Rossall Beach
- Delivering the Coastal and Flood Resilience Strategy, alongside our partners, to protect Wyre against coastal change and reduce the impact of localised flooding
The budget consultation will be open until noon on 14 January 2026. Your views will help to inform the budget proposals that will be considered by Cabinet, ahead of setting the final budget for 2026/27.
