Wyre Council is proud to launch the 2025 Wyre Moving More Awards.
The awards celebrate the individuals, schools, clubs and volunteers who are making a real difference through sport, physical activity and community wellbeing.
These awards honour those who go above and beyond to inspire others to move more, whether through sporting excellence, inclusive community programmes, or simply encouraging everyday activity that supports healthier, happier lives.
Councillor Lynne Bowen, Portfolio Holder for Leisure, Health and Community Engagement said:
“Through the Wyre Moving More strategy, we’re building stronger links between sport, physical activity, and health and wellbeing. Celebrating the people who bring this vision to life is incredibly important and we want to recognise those who are encouraging movement in all forms, helping people to improve their health and wellbeing and showing that physical activity can be accessible to everyone, regardless of age or ability.
“Whether it’s a young athlete chasing their dreams, a sports volunteer supporting their club members, or a school championing physical and mental wellbeing, these individuals and groups are helping Wyre become a more active, connected and healthier place to live.”
