
We’re looking for stand out individuals, clubs, schools and volunteers who have made amazing achievements, contributed to their community or shown dedication to sport.
The Wyre Moving More Award pay tribute to those who show dedication to perform at the highest level, regardless of their age. The awards also highlight individuals, clubs and schools who work tirelessly to support their local community and create an environment where people can thrive.
Applications are made using the button below and nominations will be judged by a panel of individuals from the sports and health and wellbeing industry.
Categories
Volunteer of the Year Award
The Volunteer of The Year Award is given to a volunteer who has given up their free time to promote and support active lifestyles in a non-coaching capacity at a traditional sports or activity club. Volunteers are the backbone of majority of clubs in Wyre, not just those on the playing pitches but those in the background who work incredibly hard to provide opportunities for people of all ages in the borough.
Primary School of the Year Award
The Primary School of The Year Award goes to a Primary School that has gone above and beyond to support their pupils' physical and mental health, providing varying opportunities for all to access provision, regardless of their ability.
Secondary School of the Year Award
The Secondary School of the Year Award are judged on their willingness to support pupils physical and mental health whilst providing opportunities for all abilities to become more active and healthy.
The Activating Communities
This award is presented to an individual, or exercise group that go the extra mile within their community by supporting others to participate in physical activity and providing innovative opportunities that make a difference
Young Achiever of the Year Award
The Young Achiever of the Year award is for some of the most talented performers across the County, who show exceptional dedication to their sport and have the potential to perform at the highest level.
Coach of the Year Award
The Coach of the Year Award is made for the coach or activator who has selflessly given up their time and invested their expertise to help those interested in sport and active lifestyles to improve their skills, confidence and realise their full potential. They have acted as a role model for many and shown a real commitment to improving the ability of others, both within the activity and beyond.
Health and Wellbeing Award
The Health & Wellbeing Award shines a light on those supporting others with their physiological health, mental wellbeing, health management or any of the wider outcomes supported by physical activity or sport, emphasising the vital role that being physically active plays in supporting health outcomes.
Club of the Year Award
The Club of the Year is given to a thriving organisation who have showcased that they are proactive and well-governed, working hard to retain and attract new participants. They have shown great impact within their community to help encourage more people to live active lifestyles.
Inclusion Award
The Inclusion award celebrate those groups, clubs or individuals who champion opportunities for individuals who have barriers to exercise, have disabilities or needs in sport and aim to make the sporting world more diverse and inclusive.

Nominations close on the 10th of September 2025 and the awards ceremony will be held on the 15th of October 2025 at the Civic Centre in Poulton.
