Wyre's adopted local plan

The Wyre local plan sets out a vision for growth and development of the entire borough to 2031, including where new homes, employment and shops will be located as well as which areas will be protected.

On the 28 February 2019 Wyre council adopted the Wyre local plan 2011–2031 (the local plan).  Wyre's new local plan sets out a vision for growth and development of the entire borough to 2031, including where new homes, employment and shops will be located as well as which areas will be protected.

Inspector's final report on the Wyre local plan

Wyre Council submitted the local plan to the Planning Inspectorate on 23 January 2018 and following Examination, the Inspector's final report was issued on 1 February 2019. The Inspector's report is available on the Examination webpage.

Wyre Publication Draft local plan – Proposed Main Modifications

Following the Examination Hearing Sessions held in May and June 2018, Inspector Mark Dakeyne BA (Hons) MRTPI has recommended a number of Main Modifications i.e. changes to the Publication Draft Plan that he considers necessary to make it sound.

The council invited representations on the Main Modifications and accompanying Sustainability Appraisal Addendum from Wednesday 12 September to 5.00pm Wednesday 24 October 2018. The consultation has now closed.

The Main Modifications are proposed without prejudice to the Inspector's final conclusions which will be set out in his report in due course and will take account of the representations submitted in response to the Main Modifications consultation.

Submission draft Wyre local plan

On the 23 January 2018, the council submitted the local plan and its supporting documents for independent examination to the Secretary of State. The examination period starts from submission until the council receives the Inspectors final report. The local plan hearings sessions form part of the examination and took place during May and the beginning of June 2018. Further information is available on the submission and examination wepbages.

Publication draft Wyre local plan

The council invited representations on the publication draft Wyre local plan and sustainability appraisal from Friday 22 September 2017 to 5.00pm Friday 3 November 2017. 

The council received 1,151 valid representations from 253 individuals and organisations. The full original representations (personal details redacted) received are available to view in representor ID order at item ED120 of the submission document library. Previous consultation

The council carried out a public consultation on issues and options between June and August 2015 and produced a briefing note in August 2016 to provide an update on the local plan progress.
