Data Protection Complaints Procedure

Scope

This procedure relates to any complaints or concerns you may have regarding the handling and use of personal data by the council or its suppliers. You may also wish to raise a complaint following your request to exercise your information rights such as access or erasure.

In line with the council’s Zero Tolerance Policy, we will not deal with complaints that contain aggressive or abusive language. We may also refuse to investigate your complaint if we believe it to be unfounded, for example, we consider the request is malicious and is being used to harass or disrupt council activities. We may also reject your complaint if it is deemed to be unreasonable in nature such as repeated complaints being made on the same issue.
