What happens if you don't pay?

Enforcement agents

If we have to pass your debt to an Enforcement Agent (EA) to collect, you will incur additional costs that will be added to the outstanding balance you owe.

These costs include:

  • a "compliance" stage fee of £75 when the EA sends you a "notice of enforcement"
  • an "enforcement" fee of £235 (plus 7.5% of the value of the debt that exceeds £1,500) if you fail to pay in full during the compliance stage, or you default on any payment arrangement you make. At this stage an EA will call at your address to take control of your goods to identify what goods to take if you do not clear the debt
  • a "sale" fee of £110 (plus 7.5% of the value of the debt that exceeds £1,500). This fee becomes payable when the EA attends your property to remove goods and make preparations for their sale

All of the costs charged by the EA are set in accordance with the Taking Control of Goods (Fees) Regulations 2014.

If we pass your debt to an EA any arrangements/payments you make to clear the debt will need to be made directly with/to them.
