Procurement Act 2023
The Procurement Act 2023 replaced the existing procurement regulations primarily, the Public Contracts Regulations 2015 which has remained since Brexit. The act has come into effect on the 24 February 2025, with any procurements taking place after being subject to the new rules and regulations.
The Act reduces the previous regulations from 4 regulations into 1 comprehensive act whilst improving transparency and competition ultimately with the aim of increasing value for money across ~£300 billion spent on public procurement each year.
