Dolphinholme neighbourhood plan
Neighbourhood area application
At the start of the neighbourhood planning process, the neighbourhood area which the community intend to produce a plan for has to be formally agreed. This is undertaken by an application to the local planning authority.
Nether Wyresdale Parish Council with Ellel Parish Council (lead parish) submitted a neighbourhood area application to Wyre Council and Lancaster City Council on 22 September 2016. Before making a decision, a six week consultation was held from 29 September to 10 November 2016. After consideration of the consultation comments, the area application was approved on 1 February 2017. A copy of the decision notice, consultation report and approved neighbourhood area are available to download below:

The steering group have undertaken a neighbourhood survey in 2016 and held consultation events regarding development options for the village. The outcome of this work has led to the formulation of a first draft plan.
The steering group are undertaking an eight week public consultation on the first draft plan between 6 December 2018 and 31 January 2019. Further information on the consultation and how to submit comments can be found on the Dolphinholme neighbourhood plan webpage
