Council tax in Wyre

Council TaxWe collect council tax on behalf of local agencies. These include Lancashire County CouncilLancashire Police and Crime Commissioner, Lancashire Combined Fire Authority, local parish/town councils, and us.

The amount of council tax you pay depends on how much certain public bodies in your area need to spend to deliver local services, and also how much they get from elsewhere. The amount you have to pay also depends on which valuation band your home is placed in.

A table of council tax charges 2014/15 by parish is available.

This year (2014/15) a local home will pay a total of £180.16 (band D) for the services we deliver. This generates approximately £6.1m which together with Government grants and external funding totalling £8.4m funds our net expenditure of £14.5m.

Details of how council tax helps to pay for services in Wyre can be found here, and a summary of changes from the previous year here.
