**COUNCIL EVENTS** We are currently reviewing our events and activities and will be running a revised calendar of events.

Spending time outdoors safely (updated 06.07.20):

New guidance which affects the use of outdoor spaces came into effect on 4 July. Remember to follow the Government guidelines on staying alert and safe, and meeting people from outside your household. Please make sure you:

  • Supervise your children carefully, especially in play areas
  • Follow social distancing advice, give each other space
  • Avoid busy areas. If you arrive and it’s too busy please choose another place to visit
  • Keep dogs on a lead so that you can safely stay away from other people
  • Always pick up after your dog
  • Take your litter home
  • Wash your hands after use

Always follow the general guidance on staying safe outside your home.

If you or any member of your family have symptoms or have been diagnosed with coronavirus - stay home and get tested

Being able to get outside more is great for our wellbeing but your safety is our priority. Please use our parks and open spaces responsibly.

Please travel sustainably. We understand that you are keen to visit your favourite places, but please think twice before visiting popular spots, if they become too busy social distancing becomes extremely difficult and puts everyone in danger. Think green and stay local before driving to a beauty spot in Wyre or elsewhere.

Coronavirus has not gone away. Your actions matter. Please continue to follow government guidance to keep yourself, your loved ones and others safe.

The Lancashire region of Wyre has a huge variety of walking opportunities, from coastal dunes to wild upland moors, riverside trails to quiet country villages.

Wyre Council promotes a range of routes throughout the district which can be accessed via the guided walk schemes, or as self guided trails; some of which are accessible to tramper vehicle users.
