Fleetwood is gearing up for its first Food, Fish and Music Festival which arrives in town from 14–16 August 2026, offering three days of FREE entertainment, fantastic food, live music and fun for all ages.
Visitors can enjoy more than 200 stalls at Fleetwood Market, a bustling Continental Market and Food Village on Adelaide Street, Silcock's Giant Funfair on Custom House Lane Car Park, live music on the Adelaide Street Main Stage, community activities and the Heritage Village on Victoria Street.
The festival officially opens on Friday 14 August with the Mayor of Wyre, Councillor Steven Nicholls attending the opening ceremony, followed by the return of Fleetwood’s historic Fish Queen or King Competition. Last held in 1939, this cherished Fleetwood tradition will bring a beloved piece of local history back to life. Primary school-aged children are invited to join a colourful sea-themed fancy dress parade, before the Mayor crowns the lucky winner.
A special highlight of the weekend is the CJ Jackson Seafood Theatre, featuring live cooking demonstrations celebrating Fleetwood's fishing heritage on Friday and Saturday.
Adding to the atmosphere, Coastal Radio will be on stage throughout the weekend.
Councillor Lynne Bowen, Wyre Council’s Portfolio Holder for Leisure, Health and Community Engagement, commented:
"The Fleetwood Food, Fish and Music Festival promises to be one of the highlights of our events calendar and a fantastic celebration of everything that makes Fleetwood special. From our proud fishing heritage and local food producers to the vibrant music and family entertainment on offer, there's something for everyone to enjoy. We're delighted to welcome residents and visitors alike for what promises to be another memorable weekend in the town."
To help visitors make the most of the event, a free Park and Ride service will operate daily between 10am and 6pm between Affinity Lancashire and Fleetwood Market.
The Fleetwood Food, Fish and Music Festival is proud to be supported by several local industry sponsors whose contributions play a vital role in the delivery and promotion of the event. This year's sponsors include the Fleetwood Fish Merchants' Association, Midland Fish Co Ltd, Neptune Fish, A Welsh Seafood Ltd Fleetwood and West Coast Fish and Seafood. Their support helps to celebrate Fleetwood's rich fishing heritage while delivering a fantastic festival experience for residents and visitors alike.
