Wyre Council are pleased to announce the completion of refurbishment works at the former Cottam Hall Pavilion, Poulton-le-Fylde marking a significant investment in improving local community sports facilities and enhancing the experience for all users of the playing fields.
This project has received funding from the UK government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund to provide a modern, accessible and more welcoming Sports Hub, supporting both community use and the growing needs of local sports clubs.
Improvements include an extended entrance and terrace to enhance accessibility and create a new spectator viewing area, along with a full internal refurbishment to ensure the building meets current regulations.
This work supports Wyre Council’s corporate priorities for Place and Climate, and People and Communities, demonstrating our commitment to improving indoor and outdoor leisure facilities and providing high‑quality open spaces for all residents and visitors to enjoy.

Cottam Hall Sports Hub features a new members’ meeting area, refurbished kitchen, modernised changing rooms and WC’s, an accessible bathroom and wet room, dedicated referees’ rooms plus an upgraded storage, plant and service areas.
These improvements ensure the building is fit for the future, offering better facilities for players, officials, volunteers and visitors.

The pavilion is now fully operational with a lease agreement secured with Wyre Cricket Club, allowing them to manage the facility post-refurbishment and welcome teams and visitors for the upcoming season.
