Wyre Council is calling on business owners, directors and CEOs across the borough to take just five minutes to complete the Wyre Business Survey 2026.
This annual survey is a vital opportunity to influence how business support is designed and delivered over the next two years.
We want to hear from organisations of every size and at every stage, from new startups and growing SMEs to established multimillion pound enterprises. Your insight will help us plan ahead and tailor the support that businesses need to grow, thrive and innovate.
The findings will also inform the ongoing review of the Economic Development and Visitor Economy Strategy, helping us refine current actions and adjust our approach where needed.
The survey explores the most pressing challenges facing local businesses today, including:
- rising operational costs
- workforce and HR pressures
- procurement and supply chain issues
- AI, automation and digital transformation
- carbon reduction and sustainability planning
- the systems and processes that support efficient growth
Understanding these themes at a local level ensures that future support aligns with the real priorities of Wyre’s business community.
The results will shape how we work with regional and national partners including the North & Western Lancashire Chamber of Commerce, the Federation of Small Businesses, local universities and colleges, Innovate UK, Made Smarter, Rosebud Finance and The Small Business. Academy as well as our own internal teams. Together, we aim to strengthen and coordinate a business support ecosystem that enables companies to start well, grow well and remain resilient.
Survey findings will be published on the Invest in Wyre website, offering open and transparent intelligence on local trends and the wider economic landscape. These insights will be shared with partners to ensure support is targeted, relevant and genuinely impactful.
This work forms part of Wyre Council’s commitment under the Growth and Prosperity priority, supporting a thriving local economy and providing the best possible environment for small businesses and startups to succeed.
The survey is open until 30 April 2026.
