Wyre Council is proud to announce the launch of the Wyre Community Lottery Fund, providing £10,000 per year to support charities and community groups across the borough.
Managed and administered by Blackpool, Fylde and Wyre Volunteer Centre, the fund is available to organisations that are registered as a good cause on the Wyre Community Lottery. These groups can apply for grants of up to £1,500 to deliver projects that make a real difference to local people.
The Wyre Community Lottery fund is designed to help groups deliver initiatives that align with Wyre Council’s priorities, including:
- Supporting people to live independently and improving quality of life
- Tackling loneliness and isolation
- Providing opportunities for healthy and active lifestyles
- Enhancing community safety and reducing anti-social behaviour
- Building pride in Wyre’s towns and neighbourhoods
The Wyre Community Lottery is a powerful fundraising tool for voluntary and community groups, registered charities, and not-for-profit social enterprises operating within Wyre. By signing up as a good cause partner, groups not only gain access to this new funding opportunity but also benefit from ongoing support through the lottery. The Wyre Community Lottery helps local organisations raise funds directly, with 60% of ticket sales going back to good causes.
Councillor Lynne Bowen, Portfolio Holder for Leisure, Health and Community Engagement, said:
“We are proud to back our local groups through this new Wyre Community Lottery Fund, underpinned by the Wyre Community Lottery. It’s more than financial support: it’s about empowering residents, strengthening community ties, and delivering long-term impact. Managed through our trusted partners at the Blackpool, Fylde & Wyre Volunteer Centre, this funding aligns perfectly with our council plan commitment to create a place where residents live happier, healthier, and safer lives.”
Applications for grants are open, and good causes registered on the Wyre Community Lottery can apply now for up to £1,500 of funding.
