Kick off 2026 with a dynamic event designed to help local enterprises thrive. Wyre’s business community is invited to join Wyred Up’s new series of practical business support workshops, starting with ‘How to: Attract More Customers’.
This interactive session will equip businesses with actionable strategies, expert insights, and proven tools to boost visibility and drive growth throughout the year. The focus will be on digital collaboration as a powerful way to boost tourism, promote the high street, and strengthen local supply chains.
The event is funded by the UK government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund and hosted by Wyred Up in partnership with Hub62 and Wyre Council’s Economic Development team. It will take place on Wednesday 21 January 2026, from 5.30pm to 8.30pm at the Civic Centre, Poulton-le-Fylde.
Expect a keynote presentation from Dr John Barlow of Hub62, a leading expert in business growth and the visitor economy, followed by hands-on sessions and networking opportunities.
Attendees will learn practical, easy-to-implement strategies to attract and retain customers, while building a ready-to-use social media calendar for Spring and Summer 2026 tailored to their business. They will discover free tools and resources to create engaging content without the need for expensive software and will connect with other local businesses to form partnerships that drive mutual growth. They will gain valuable insights from Dr John Barlow on how collaboration can transform their business, and will leave with clear, actionable steps to boost their online presence and customer engagement right away.
This interactive session blends expert insights, hands-on exercises, and valuable networking to help businesses across Wyre, Blackpool, and Fylde turn connections into customers.
Councillor Peter Le Marinel, Portfolio Holder for Planning Policy and Economic Development, encourages businesses to get involved:
“Our first Wyred Up event in 2026 is more than just a workshop – it’s a practical, results-focused session designed to help local businesses boost their visibility, attract more customers, and build stronger connections within the community, across the borough, and beyond.”
