Wyre Council is inviting residents, businesses, and visitors to share their views on exciting plans to rejuvenate Fleetwood’s waterfront. This is your chance to help shape the future of one of Wyre’s most iconic coastal destinations.
Wyre Council have worked closely with leading consultants Arcadis to develop a detailed masterplan for Fleetwood’s waterfront. These plans will position the council to take advantage of future Government funding opportunities and showcase the site at major events, attracting investment and driving regeneration for the area.
The plans aim to transform the area into a vibrant, accessible, and sustainable space that celebrates Fleetwood’s heritage while creating new opportunities for leisure, tourism and community activities.
The masterplan focuses on several key projects designed to breathe new life into the waterfront:
- Redeveloping Marine Hall into a flexible, mixed-use venue with a restaurant, offices, and event spaces alongside the historic theatre.
- Refurbishing Fleetwood Leisure Centre, to upgrade sports facilities, add a climbing wall, and reposition the centre as a health and wellness hub.
- Reconfiguring the promenade to better connect waterfront attractions with the town centre.
- Enhancing beach huts and introducing glamping pods to tap into the growing staycation market.
Your feedback will play a vital role in ensuring the development reflects the needs and aspirations of the local community. Whether you live, work, or visit Fleetwood, your input will help us create a waterfront that everyone can enjoy for generations to come.

"This is a fantastic opportunity for the community to influence the future of Fleetwood’s waterfront. We want to create a space that reflects local pride and attracts visitors, and your ideas will help us get it right.
“Marine Hall, the Leisure Centre and the surrounding areas have the potential to deliver a wide range of new and exciting activities to complement the current visitor experience. The feedback we receive through this consultation will help us create a clear vision for the future, ensuring Fleetwood is ready to bid for government funding and attract investment when opportunities arise."
The proposals in the masterplan reflect Wyre Council’s commitment to delivering its Council Plan priorities. By improving leisure facilities to meet the needs of residents and visitors, supporting Wyre’s growing tourism economy, and securing external funding for regeneration, we aim to create high-quality spaces for everyone to enjoy. We are also focused on using our land and buildings wisely, reducing environmental impact, and reinvesting income to improve services. This consultation will help us shape a clear vision for Fleetwood’s future.
