The Teenage Market is coming to Fleetwood and Cleveleys this Christmas!

Young people from across Wyre are being invited to sign-up to take part in two Teenage Market events this Christmas.

The events, run by the social enterprise Place For Youth, and funded by UK Shared Prosperity Fund (UKSPF) are  taking place at Cleveleys Citizen Hall on Saturday 13 December 2025 from 10am - 3pm and Fleetwood Market on Sunday 14 December 2025 from 10am - 3pm.

To celebrate Christmas with the community, both Cleveleys Citizen Hall and the outdoor area of Fleetwood Market will be transformed into a fun-filled festive space and the organisers are now calling on young people from across the area who have a creative hobby or passion for performing to get involved.

Whether it’s handmade gifts, art, clothing, crafts, photography, bakes or live music, The Teenage Market provides a free and supportive platform for young people to showcase their creative talent.

Through taking part in Teenage Market events across the country, young people have gone on to develop new skills, grow their own small businesses and even open up shops on the high street, using the experience gained, and money earned, as a springboard to success.

Speaking about their experience taking part in the events, 15 year-old Alex said, “The Teenage Market started out as a way to get a little extra pocket money for me but has turned into a path to start my own business. Since the first market, I have been able to grow my customer base and then make money from commissions. I am currently studying my final GCSE year in Creative Media and hope to take my business even further when I leave school next September.”

Alongside the young traders and performers, visitors to the event at Fleetwood Market will also be able to enjoy a Giant Snow Globe for picture-perfect moments, meet ‘Santa Paws’ the friendly Christmas bear, and have a go at a range of traditional Christmas-themed funfair stalls to get everyone in the festive spirit.

Councillor Peter Le Marinel, Planning Policy and Economic Development Portfolio Holder said:

“The UK Shared Prosperity Fund is enabling us to invest in projects that truly make a difference to our communities. The Teenage Market is a fantastic example of how we can empower young people, support local enterprise, and bring vibrancy to our town centres. I’m delighted to see Fleetwood and Cleveleys hosting these events and look forward to seeing the creativity and talent on display.”

Event Organiser for The Teenage Market, Scarlet Barratt, said,

“We’re so excited to be bringing The Teenage Market to Cleveleys and Fleetwood this Christmas. Our markets are all about giving young people the chance to shine – whether that’s selling handmade products, performing on stage or simply gaining experience in a real-life market environment. We’d love to see as many young people as possible from the local area getting involved and showing what they can do. We hope to do similar in Garstang and Poulton in spring 2026.”

The Teenage Market is an award-winning national initiative that provides young people with free opportunities to showcase their creative talents. Since its launch, the initiative has supported thousands of young people across the UK to develop new skills, gain confidence and earn money from their creativity.

Anyone interested in taking part in the Fleetwood event can sign up for free via the website at www.theteenagemarket.co.uk, or email scarlet@theteenagemarket.co.uk for more information.
