Following a consultation with the public last year, the Greater Garstang Partnership Board would like to hear from the public on their proposed projects for the town.

Comments can be made from Monday 4 April until Sunday 24 April.

The Greater Garstang Partnership Board, established to help facilitate a vibrant future for the town and surrounding villages, is asking for final comments on the Board’s Regeneration Framework and the proposed projects outlined within the framework.

The board, supported by consultants from the renowned IBI Group, have worked closely with local organisations and stakeholders to identify projects which will benefit local people, local businesses and tourists.

Proposed projects in the framework include, introducing pedestrian priority along the high street, Cherestanc Square improvements, improving the market offer and making Garstang a low carbon/zero carbon town, to name a few.

Jan Finch, Chair of the Greater Garstang Partnership Board, commented, “There are no huge changes from the last draft which people could see in December last year but some projects have been merged and others moved from one theme to another.

“However, we wanted to give local people a last chance to comment before the document is formally adopted by the Board. I would encourage everyone to have a look at the latest version and let us have any final comments”.

Councillor Alice Collinson, Portfolio Holder for Planning and Economic Development, commented, “I would urge local people and local businesses to view the projects and have their say on the framework.

“The Board have worked incredibly hard over the last year to create a framework in which Garstang can thrive over the next 15 years and I would like to thank them for their hard work.”

The public are invited to make comments on these projects from Monday 4 April – Sunday 24 April by emailing regeneration@wyre.gov.uk
