We are pleased to announce that at the full council meeting on May 12 2022 Hannah Mullin was appointed as Youth Mayor of Wyre for 2022-23. We wish Hannah the best of luck in her new role!
The role of Youth Mayor was created jointly by Wyre Council and Lancashire County Council to help us identify the needs of young people and what's important to them.
The Youth Mayor provides an opportunity for young people to get involved in local decision making and to feed in to and tailor services to meet the needs of young people in Wyre. The young people’s Mayor for Wyre is also invited to attend a number of occasions throughout the year, along with the Mayor for Wyre.
Applications to become Youth Mayor are open to young people aged 13 to 17 years old who live or go to school in Wyre. The term for Youth Mayor lasts for one year.
