Tariff cards and Meter Calibration
The owner/proprietor of a Wyre Hackney Carriage must display the tariff card inside the vehicle, where it is clearly visible to passengers. The taximeter must be calibrated to this tariff at all times that it is licensed. Two versions of this are available on request from the Licensing Office.
All Hackney Carriages must be fitted with a calendar controlled taximeter which is sealed and approved by a recognised agent.
The meter must be calibrated to the current Hackney Carriage Tariff and vehicles must be presented, on request, to an Authorised Officer of the Licensing Authority to validate the accuracy of the taximeter.
A calibration certificate must be presented with the vehicle licence application and at each renewal.
