Great Eccleston extension masterplan
The Wyre local plan allocates land for a substantial village extension at Great Eccleston. The extension will create a mixed use development including residential and employment uses, a community hall, medical centre, new primary school, and local small convenience store. The local plan requires the allocation to be brought forward through a masterplan that will be used to guide the future development of the site.
A six week public consultation on the masterplan concepts closed on 22 January 2019.
The council has published the comments received (with names and personal details removed) which has informed the development of the final masterplan progressed by De Pol Associates and the council.
The Masterplan (Part 1) provides a framework for how the site will be developed. The Part 1 was formally approved by cabinet on 4 December 2019.
The Part 2 of the Masterplan will provide detail on the delivery of the spine road and an area of the site shown in the Masterplan as a "community hub". Work on the Part 2 document is currently underway.
