This is a moderately strenuous walk that starts with a climb up Nicky Nook to gain a view of some of Fylde Water Board’s reservoirs. One of these dams was beset by problems that took years to resolve.
We then descend into Grizedale before continuing on to Calder Vale. We will pause to eat our packed lunch in the village, toilet available, and reflect that the village did not benefit at all from Fylde’s reservoirs until relatively recently. We turn west and then north to complete our route.
This nine mile walk is graded moderate.
