All you need is your time and interest in finding out about our winter wildlife on the estuary. You don`t need to be an expert – just curious about nature.
A Bioblitz is a 24-hour event in which teams of volunteer scientists, families, students, teachers, and other community members work together to find and identify as many species of plants, animals, fungi, and other organisms as possible.
Become a wildlife explorer for a day and discover what’s living right on your doorstep by joining in at your local Bioblitz event.
Experienced naturalists and wildlife watchers need your help to find and identify as many different species as you can before the clock runs out.
Just like a real scientific expedition, everything you find will be documented and passed on to local and national databases that monitor wildlife.

We will provide the equipment.
You will get a chance to explore the Wyre estuary taking in views of the river Wyre, saltmarshes, wetlands and woodlands along paths and tracks around Stanah.
Suitable for all ages but no unaccompanied under 18’s (Parent or Guardian must stay with Children at all times)
Some activities suitable for Trampers.
Trampers must be booked 7 days in advance in order to secure.

What to Bring With You:
- Please wear outdoor clothing and footwear.
- Any medication required.
- Clothing appropriate to the weather conditions.
- Stout Footwear – flip flop style footwear not allowed.
- A drink and snacks.

POOR WEATHER
A ranger/walk leader will be at the start of an activity whatever the weather. In extreme conditions, the leader of the group will take a decision on the day whether or not cancel.
