The salt mined in Preesall was exported across the world but almost nothing now remains on the ground. You wouldn’t suspect it was ever here.

A ranger/walk leader will be at the start of an activity whatever the weather. In extreme conditions, the leader of the group will take the decision on the day whether or not to cancel.

Meeting Place

Please arrive 15 minutes before the start for registration.

From the car park, head along the Riverside path to the silver Lowry Statue of a man and his dog, next to the slipway and in front of Knott End Cafe.
