Market House Studios “Pride and Place Project” is about developing creative links and supporting local development within the artistic community at large. Establishing Fleetwood as a creative hub and destination for the arts in the UK.
This project is showcasing four very different regional and local artists to conduct workshops at the studios. Each artist is a specialist in their own field and brings something new and fresh to the project. Each four series of seven workshops will culminate into four exhibitions at the gallery in Fleetwood Market.
All the workshops will be based on the “Pride & Place” theme through participatory sessions, public talks, workshops and exhibitions. The project will enable attendees and artists to collaborate creatively as a flagship for tackling social isolation and promoting well-being.
The programme will explore positive aspects of Fleetwood including its landscape architecture, the self-expressive and will be a celebration of Fleetwood people and its heritage.
1) Young Peoples Workshops with Izzy Durose
(Age range 11 – 16 any younger must be accompanied by an adult)
The primary objective of the workshops is to empower participants to explore and embrace their personal identities, including their connections to their hometown.
By fostering a sense of belonging and pride within the local community it aims to create a supportive environment where individuals can express themselves authentically.
Through guided art-making activities, participants will have the opportunity to engage in self-care practices that promote relaxation, mindfulness, and positive mental health.
By working together, participants will contribute to a collective masterpiece that embodies the spirit of "Pride and Place” celebrating the diversity and vibrancy of our hometown.
Workshops are free but spaces are limited so booking is essential. People who do not book and have a valid ticket will be turned away. If for some reason you can’t make the booking and have to cancel, please inform as soon as possible to allow other to attend.

4) Signs and words with Lisa Wigham every Wednesday from 23rd of October until the 11th of December.
