What will happen if I make a complaint?
Within three working days of the council receiving your complaint, you will be sent an acknowledgement. You will also be told the date you can expect the investigation into your complaint to be completed, which should be within 10 working days.
The relevant service manager will then investigate your concerns and provide a response; this is Stage One of our complaints process.
If you are still unhappy with this response you can ask for your complaint to be escalated to Stage Two. This will be acknowledged within three working days. It will then be assigned to a senior officer in a separate service area who has not be involved in your complaint. They will investigate and provide response within 15 working days.
Following completion of Stage Two, if you are still unhappy you may wish to contact the Local Government Ombudsman.
