Wyre Performance Pass Scheme:
Together with Fylde Coast YMCA, we offer Wyre's top sports young people the chance to use council leisure facilities for free through our Performance Pass, valid for 12 months. The pass gives the young person the opportunity to train at any of the Wyre Leisure Centres for free for 12 months, this includes swimming, gym, exercise classes etc to allow them to fulfil potential and have the best opportunity to succeed in their sporting career.
Who can apply?
The performance pass application is open to those athletes who are deemed to be elite/regional standard or those that have the potential to reach this standard within 1 year of submitting your application, as deemed by the respective National Governing Body.

To be eligible you must:
- Be aged between 14 and 21. Disabled athletes outside of this age range are also eligible to apply.
- Be an athlete within a sport recognised by Sport England. For a list of Sport England recognised sports visit https://www.sportengland.org/guidance-and-support/national-governing-bodies
- Reside in the Wyre Borough and be in need of this pass to help you achieve your full potential
- be a member of a Wyre sports club
- be of amateur status
Priority is given to applicants that:
- Are struggling to reach their potential due to a lack of access to leisure and sport facilities.
- Do not have access to other sources of funding.
- Family circumstances prevent progress due to rising costs associated with achieving the standards required.
- Please be aware, there is a limited number of passes available. All applications will be judged on their merits by Council/YMCA panel.
- Individuals who are in receipt of World Class Athlete Programme, TASS, SportsAid or Backing the Best funding are less likely to receive a funded performance pass.
