Notice of Permitted Development Works
The applicant for the East Irish Sea Transmission application have notified Wyre Council that they intend to carry out site investigation works near the landfall at Fleetwood within the scoping corridor the applicant is considering for the onshore export cable corridor starting in March 2026.
The works are being undertaken under permitted development rights and represent standard practice for projects of this nature.
The investigation works will include a range of geotechnical and geophysical works, such as drilling boreholes, cone penetration testing, geophysical surveys, and monitoring wells and undertaking a drone survey to collect topographical data across the onshore and intertidal area to Lowest Astronomical Tide.
