Tickets for Wyre Council’s new community lottery, with a £25,000 top prize, will soon be on sale, with the first draw taking place next month.
It costs £1 per game and players could win up to £25,000 as part of the weekly draw.
Councillor Lynne Bowen, Portfolio Holder for Leisure, Health and Community Engagement comments, “The local lottery has been set up by Wyre Council in a bid to raise money for charities and good causes in Wyre.
"Anyone aged over 18 can play and sixty per cent of the money raised will go directly to good causes. The rest of the money will go towards the prize money, VAT and an external lottery provider who will manage the game.”
Players will be able to set up a monthly payment in advance with the option to do a three, six or twelve month repeating subscription by direct debit or payment card.
Winners will be informed via email and any prize money will be transferred automatically to their chosen bank account.
Councillor Bowen continues, "The Wyre Community Lottery is really exciting and I hope that lots of people join in and support local voluntary organisations and charities.
"Whilst this is a fantastic and fun opportunity for everyone, we want to remind everyone to gamble responsibly."
The first draw will be on 21 March and tickets will be on sale from 18 February at www.wyrelottery.co.uk
