Garstang Walking Festival, walkers in a woodland setting

A moderately strenuous walk across fields and over stiles that starts by going south and then east to follow the River Brock and then pausing to admire the pipes carrying the Thirlmere Aqueduct.

This is a moderately strenuous walk across fields and over stiles that starts by going south and then east to follow the River Brock and then pausing to admire the pipes carrying the Thirlmere Aqueduct. The aqueduct follows the contours southwards, skirting Beacon Fell and carrying on eventually, to Heaton Park, Manchester, but we follow the Brock in an upstream direction before peeling off to head towards Landskill and then Calder Vale. We will pause for lunch at Calder Vale, toilet available, and then continue to Cobble Hey Farm.

This is a six and a half mile walk graded moderate.

Booking is essential.
