After achieving bronze last year Wyre Council is pleased to announce it has been awarded a Silver in the Ministry of Defence’s Employer Recognition Scheme after going the extra mile with long-term com
The award is recognition for Wyre Council’s commitment to ensuring that members of the Armed Forces community are not disadvantaged by their service by employing veterans and the partners of service personnel. This includes supporting Reservist employees to meet their training commitments and by continuing to help service leavers as they make their transition back into civilian life.
Cllr Andrea Kay, Armed Forces Champion for Wyre Council says, “This is very exciting news and well deserved as we offer employment opportunities for people who have served in the military and always go the extra mile. “Wyre council has turned written pledges into concrete action and we are making a positive difference to Armed Forces personnel during and after their time in uniform.”
