Wyre employers invited to Chance2Shine launch event

Published on Thursday 28th June 2012

Chance2Shine is an exciting new partnership for the Fylde Coast that aims to give young people aged 16-24 the big break they have been looking for.

There are a growing number of employers who recognise the challenges faced by young people and are committed to providing opportunities that give them the best start to their working lives, offering real jobs with training and long term benefits.

Employers are often confused about the latest government initiative to address youth unemployment or increase apprenticeship levels, and how it all fits with general recruitment and workforce development.

That's why a unique partnership has been developed in an attempt to simplify the offer (including financial incentives) for local employers. It's pioneered by Blackpool Council and Blackpool & the Fylde College and has the full support of Wyre Council.

If you are an employer and want to hear more about the Chance2Shine initiative, you are invited to attend a launch event on Friday 13 July, 9am at Blackpool youth hub: The Oracle, 49 St. Annes Road, Blackpool, FY4 2AP. Parking is available at Palatine Sports Centre - a short walk from the centre.

RSVP to Natalie Guerin by Friday 6 July on 01253 477326 or email chance2shine@blackpool.gov.uk
