As part of the UK Shared Prosperity Fund (UKSPF), Wyre Council have teamed up with the East Lancashire Chamber of Commerce.

Decarbonisation is a tool to get to Net Zero and involves devising and implementing new and innovative methods to reduce carbon emissions. A business with a decarbonisation plan demonstrates their commitment to reducing their carbon footprint and enables them to be one step ahead of competitors, saving money on energy and other associated costs.

Businesses in Wyre are encouraged to sign up to the award-winning ‘Chamber Low Carbon’ programme, which can provide free, tailored support to:

  • Calculate and reduce your carbon footprint
  • Reduce costs and improve performance
  • Advise on the installation of on-site renewable energy
  • Upskill and train workers
  • Help you develop low carbon technology and innovation, and bring these products to market
  • Attend best practice events with other local businesses

Over a dozen businesses in Wyre have already taken advantage of this free business support. If your business is in Wyre and you would like to better understand decarbonisation, get support with your low-carbon ambitions and reduce costs, this free support will be available until March 2025.
