Spikey humour at Marine Hall
Published on Wednesday 21st March 2012
Stuck for words but overflowing with laughs, top comic Dave Spikey is coming to Marine Hall, Fleetwood on 12 July with his critically acclaimed ‘Words Don’t Come Easy Tour’.
Great British comedy at its best, with this talented, multi award-winning comedian, actor and writer.
Dave Spikey is probably best known as the co-writer and co-star of Phoenix Nights, presenter of Bullseye and team captain on four hit series of 8 out of 10 Cats. His new tour is set to be huge and organisers recommend booking early to be sure of getting a seat.
Inspired by the amazing audience reaction to his deconstruction of song lyrics in his 'Best Medicine Tour', the comedian says he has drawn on his fascination with the vagaries of the English language to create this hilarious new show that examines many more situations in life where words really don't come easy.
Situations include tongue-tied parents explaining the facts of life, ridiculous newspaper stories, poems, adolescent chat-up lines, police speak, pretentious menus and an extended selection of song lyrics that range from the lazy through the surreal to the ridiculous.
Throw in a Champion the Wonder Horse sing-a-long, rubbish school trips and an eccentric granny and you have all the ingredients for a rich and spicy comedy casserole or as the comedian himself says "a sort of Lexicon Carne".
Tickets for the show on Thursday 12 July are available now from the Marine Hall box office on 01253 887693 or online at http://www.marinehall.co.uk/. All seat prices are £18.
