Fleetwood Market needs your vote
Published on Wednesday 7th December 2011
Wyre Council is urging people to vote Fleetwood for Britain's Favourite Market.
Fleetwood Market is in the running for the top spot, subject to an online public vote, and the council wants everyone who has ever enjoyed shopping there or lives in the borough, to get clicking.
Where many other markets are failing or closing because of recession, Fleetwood Market is going from strength to strength, attracting coach trips from all over the country and offering a great variety of goods among its 250 stalls.
Councillor Gordon McCann, Cabinet member with responsibility for economic development at Wyre Council said: "The market is a key component in Fleetwood's economy and winning this title would not only achieve some well earned recognition but would encourage even more people to visit the town."
Casting your vote is free and takes seconds, and you don't have to enter any personal details. Visit http://www.nabma.com/, click on the voting icon and type in Fleetwood Market. The poll closes on 30 December 2011 and the winner will be announced on 27 January.
