The Royal British Legion's Two-Minute Silence Campaign

The Worshipful The Mayor of the Borough of Wyre - Councillor Alan Vincent will be supporting the Royal British Legion's Two-Minute Silence Campaign this year, by firing a rocket at 11.00am on Wednesda

The Mayor wishes to invite any members of the public who may be interested to attend along with representatives of The Royal British Legion and ex-Servicemen/Women.

The rocket to be used is the same as used in previous years and can be heard from up to three miles away. If you hear this bang then please do not be alarmed, but spare a thought for those servicemen and women who lost their lives fighting for their country.

All persons wishing to attend are requested to meet at the Marine Gardens, Fleetwood at 10.45am

REMEMBRANCE SUNDAY 8 NOVEMBER, 2009

Fleetwood

Memorial Park, Warrenhurst Road, procession assembles at Warrenhurst Road at 10.30am. The Leader of the Council - Councillor Russ Forsyth will attend this service and lay the Council's wreath.

Also attending: Philippa Davies - Director of Finance and Revenues.

Garstang

Procession assembles at the Community Centre Car Park at 10.00am for service in St Thomas' Church, at 10.30am followed by a wreath laying ceremony at the War Memorial. Councillor Lady Dulcie Atkins will attend this service and lay the Council's wreath.

Also attending: Tom Pridmore - Director of Leisure Services

Poulton-le-Fylde

War Memorial, Market Place followed by a service at the Parish Church of St Chad. Members are asked to assemble at the old Town Hall, at 10.45am. - The Deputy Mayor - Councillor May Gandhi will attend this service and lay the Council's wreath.

Also attending: Rob Posner - Director of Neighbourhood Services.

Preesall

St Oswald's Church, at 2.30 pm. The procession to assemble at the Car Park, Lancaster Road at 1.45pm. The Worshipful the Mayor - Councillor Alan Vincent will attend this service and lay the Council's wreath.

ThorntonCleveleys

Cenotaph, Four Lane Ends. Members are asked to assemble at the Thornton Little Theatre at 10.30am. The Worshipful the Mayor - Councillor Alan Vincent will attend this service and lay the Council's wreath. Also attending: Jim Corry - Chief Executive. The Young Mayor of Wyre - Tom Langhorne.
