We are deeply saddened by the news that Councillor Rita Amos passed away on Thursday 3 March.
We know we speak for the entire council when we say Rita will be deeply missed by us all - she was a joy to work with and a true champion for her community.
Our thoughts are with Rita’s family and everyone who knew and loved her.
Rita was first elected to Wyre Council for Victoria Ward in 1999 which she represented until May 2007. She was then elected to represent Cleveleys Park Ward in 2011 where she still served as a councillor. She will be sorely missed.
