Young Wyre In Bloom
Wyre youngsters who added some greenery to their neighbourhoods have been rewarded for their efforts.
Every year Wyre Borough Council runs the Young Wyre In Bloom scheme, giving special awards to schools, nurseries and groups of under 18s whose environmentally friendly projects formed part of their area's wider entry into North West In Bloom.
This can be anything from creating an outdoor classroom or planting by planting bulbs and vegetables through to waste reduction schemes.
Projects are awarded either a bronze, silver or gold certificate, presented this year at a Civic Centre reception by the Mayor and Mayoress of Wyre Councillor Russell and Mrs Christine Forsyth.
Councillor Forsyth said: "This was a wonderful event, celebrating the level of community involvement that makes Wyre such a special place.
"I never cease to be impressed by the enthusiasm of our young bloomers, especially for recycling. and how Young Wyre In Bloom continues to flourish.
"We had a record 23 entries this year and all the children should be very proud of what they have achieved."
