About the Mobile Advice Centre
The Mobile Advice Centre (MAC) visits different locations throughout the borough on a regular basis, and is staffed by trained Housing and Council Tax Benefits advisors. They offer advice and assistance to new customers making a claim for Housing Benefit or Council Tax Benefit, or to existing customers who are reporting a change in their circumstances.
The MAC is equipped with the mobile connectivity to allow instant access to Civic Centre from remote locations. This means that the advisors working on the MAC are able to process new claims for Housing and Council Tax Benefits and changes in circumstance, while the customer waits. This dramatically increases the speed at which the Council processes Housing and Council Tax Benefits claims, thereby providing a much better service to the customer.
